An update on our work with Nestle

Vegan Society of Canada News
December 3rd 2018

Unfortunately, there seems to be some miscommunication and seemingly no work has been done so far. However, we have learned that in Canada the non-dairy Häagen-Dazs® is not suitable for a vegan diet because the sugar is processed with animal bones. Please refer to our previous article, for a discussion of the sugar situation in Canada. Nonetheless, Nestle told us that they are working to find a suitable replacement, but we have not been able to verify this independently yet.

You have contacted us about making it easier for vegan consumers to recognize which products are and are not suitable for a vegan lifestyle. We are working on this and could use your help. Join us as a volunteer and/or call the corporations you buy products from to let them know this is important to you.
